EAST LANSING — The short answer is Mark Dantonio doesn’t know yet.
He doesn’t know what Michigan State will do to adjust for the loss of senior outside linebacker Ed Davis to a season-ending knee injury. He doesn’t know whether Davis will be granted a sixth year of eligibility by the NCAA, if that’s Davis’ preference after rehabbing the knee.
He does know he has some options, starting with a simple one: sophomore Chris Frey moving up from the second team to claim Davis’ starting spot at the strongside “money” position. And MSU coaches have decided to move reserve middle linebacker Jon Reschke to that spot as well, with Frey and Reschke splitting the first-team reps today. – Read more at Freep.com
