LANSING — Two years after the Lansing School district moved its high school athletic director positions out of its teachers’ union and into the administration, those positions have been returned to the teachers’ union — the directive of an independent arbitrator — and the district has three new athletic directors.
The ADs let go in 2013, Sexton’s Jarrod Beebe and Eastern’s Dave Panici, aren’t among them.
Lansing schools superintendent Yvonne Caamal Canul Thursday confirmed the hiring of full-time athletic directors at each of Lansing’s three high schools — Liz Ballinger at Everett, Chris Henderson at Sexton and Ramona Mendez at Eastern. Mendez’s appointment is interim for now and slated to be posted within the school at some point this year.
All three were teachers and are coaches at their respective schools, hired on the recommendation of their building principals. – Read more at LSJ.com
